Unit 5397
Category: Layer dug in 2002
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: floor
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: mix (dark grey&white); Deposition: composite (floors/bedding/plaster/packing/occupation); Basal Spit: unpainted
Discussion: Clearly a propar surfqace at a high level - unlike 5396 to the e ans especially 5398 to the s, although in practice its edges were not entirely distinct from the lumpy plaster of these units
Recognition: plaster floor fragment below 5396 in nw by oven. This was the only place where 5396 seemed to consist of a proper surface and it was clearly part of a sequence of floors. 5397 represents the second surface down (prehaps itself with 2 phases)
