Discussion: This is a cut of a pit, in which an oven was situated. The infill of the pit was recorded as unit 10969, while an inner part of an oven as 8968.
The oven was possibly placed in a older and bigger pit (units; 11717 - infill , and 11718 - cut), which might have been however associated with the oven itself as its infill composed of ashy, blueish deposits.
The oven pit was surrounded by Roman floors (units 10971 and 10977), one of which slipped down probably thanks to unstable deposits of the oven and nearby layers.
