Discussion: this layer was again absolutely solid, required more or less my full weight on the trowel to remove carefully prepared chunks. Looks like a support or repair to the platform, or the ladder slot. Hasn't really extended the ladder slot cut, but has removed some of its northern edge. So packing and support is most likely.
