Discussion: Arbitrairy layer on westerd side of island to remove loose erosion deposits. Resulting originally from mellarts excavations. Uniform grey deposit, result of weathering, trample, root, and animal disturbance. Base of unit defined by archaeology showing through. 

 

Recognition: Arbitrary cleaning layer to west of pegs 917e/958n and 917e/960n. 

Definition: deposit extends down slope of eroded island. 

Execution: trowel/ brush 

Condition: dry 

Consistency: loose to friable 

Colour: mid grey 

Texture: silt 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: bone, pot, stone, obsidian, shell 

Post-depositional Features: root and animal disturbance 

Basal Boundary: arbitrary- removal of loose
