Unit 11579
Category: layer dug in 2005
Area: TP
Interpretive Categories: make up layer
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: external; Material: pise-like; Deposition: homogeneous
Dimensions: 3.40 x 1.40 x 0,17
Discussion: This is a make-up layer under a Roman floor (unit 10988). Two postholes have been noticed within this layer. One- close to its middle (infill 11584, cut 11585) and the other in its eastern part (infill 11586, cut 11587). This is a first layer of levelling, while the second is recorded as unit 11590.
The other part of this Roman floor was recorded in west extension so the unit underneath (11580) is possibly another part of this make-up layer.
The unit was finished as more mixed deposit was exposed with lots of rubble (unit 11590).
The layer had different heights (ranging from 0.04 E to 0.08 W), highest ranging from 1017.64 in W part to 1017.46 in E part and the lowest differed from 1017.59 in W part to 1017.50 in its E part.
