Material is very similar to mud brick but much paler is colour; top surface 'smoothed off' though still fairly 'dimpled' probably though use/ heat. Deposit came off very clearly both wall (1247) & underlying ashy layer.

Colour: 7.5 YR 7/3 pink 

Texture: Slightly sandy clay-silt 

Bedding: Massive 

Inclusions: Charred organics 5% <0.5cm; siliceous plant material 20-30% <2cm; fragments of reddened/fired mudbrick 5% <1cm 

Post-depositional Features: Roots 5% 

Basal Boundary: < 2mm very sharp, flat, prominent, smooth.
