Discussion: This is a two course, one brick wide wall that is placed against the eastern face of the wall 15889, probably dating to the earlier period (the chronology is based on a position of the mud bricks in both walls). The northern and southern border of the layer was defined arbitrarly at a place where corner bricks ended. The wall continued at both corners, to the east as unit 15225 and 13587 respectively. The position and size of a bricks suggests once more that the wall 13579 is contemporary with the two units mentioned above. The mortar 17629 which is about 6 cm wide and is situated just between the wals 15889 and 13579 most probably is an effect of the same building action. The wall 13579 is based on another, older course of bricks (unit 17642) which seems to consist of different material. Both walls are built close to the wall 15889 and might be at some point of time a part of one construction as they were both partly covered with some plaster
