Unit 13689

Area: North
Interpretive Categories: floor
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: occupation; Deposition: single
Discussion: Dirty floor layer in front of oven, abutting vertical layer (13688). Following the floor into the oven nich showed that several later floor layers had been removed. These were visible in section of a lump which had been left in the right corner of the oven. These included a plaster layer which may represent the final sealing of the oven when it went out of use but it was truncated along all edges and no relationship with other plaster layers could be discerned.
This floor comes down onto another dirty floor layer which also extends up the side of platform F1666.
