Discussion: Irregular undulating floor layered in front of plastered oven niche. This unit is probably made up of several ashy layers all overlying one another but coming down onto another ashy floor with a higher proportion of charcoal. May be related to the sweeping out of hearth (13645). Removal of the floor near the back of the oven niche showed there was still a packing layer to be reoved (13699).

Definition: clear to the W, less so elsewhere

Colour: dark grey brown 

Texture: ashy silty clay
