Unit description: Small unit, consisting mostly of little pieces of scrap, all from sheep-size animals. One burnt articulated ankle (together in ground) of a sheep. Some burning, not very intense. Mostly not very weathered. Sample 5 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Moderate amount of small pieces of scrappy sheep-size and large mammal bone. Much is burnt, mostly low temperature. Quite fragmented, but a few pieces up to 2-3 cm. Most is rather weathered. Seems like too much and some pieces too big for floor. Fill with reworked floor sweepings? Sample 6 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Consists of 2 little pieces of sheep-size scrap, looking somewhat kicked around. Looks like clean floor. Sample 9 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Smallish, but more than sample 6. Small pieces of mostly sheep-size scrap, mostly under 1 cm. Only three burnt pieces. Weathering somewhat variable, but most looks rather kicked around. Looks like dirty floor, or a bit of fill. Sample 10 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Smalllish sample with little pile of antler crumbles, otherwise mostly small pieces of mostly sheep-size scrap. One 5 cm fragment, most under 1 cm. Quite a bit of low temperature burning. Although some are fresh, most look rather worn and trampled. Looks like floor with perhaps a bit of fill included. Sample 11 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Small but not tiny sample of small pieces of mostly sheep-size scrap, only one as large as 2 cm. No burning. Rather rolled. Looks like floor. Sample 12 >4mm flotation 100% sorted, recorded completely. Small sample of small pieces, only one barely over 1 cm. Although small fragments, actually a high proportion of large mammal. One burnt, one digested. Look rather rolled/trampled. Looks like floor, but retaining remnants of different event(s) from some of the others in the unit.
