Discussion: This is a layer that is situated directly under the wall 12229 and adjacent with its eastern border the wall 12230. the layer consists manly of mudbricks rubble. This material may originally come from the wall 17607, which is situated next to the western border of the layer. The wall is to a large extend destroyed and it bends to the east. The layer 15886 marks the edge of the Mellaart excavations. The layer in its southern part is cut by a later grave pit (excavated by Mellaart) which destroyed also the walls 12229 and 12230.
there was a very small amount of inclusions found witin the layer. They were mainly fragments of animal bones.
