Discussion: Unit 16938 is a lens of fill defined by a gray brown color mottled with light brown and a number of large potsherds. A rodent burrow (16940) defines the southern edge, and opposite 16940, 16939 appears to be a different episode of fill (based on fewer and smaller sherds and lighter color). 16938 was relatively shallow (~10-15 cm). Due to its shape and inclusions, the unit is interpreted as an episode of roomfill. In addition to the large number of big potsherds, many large animal bones were founf in the unit. Overall, 16938 is quite similar to 16939, varying only in color mottling and having larger potsherds.
