Unit 20270
Category: Layer dug in 2012
Area: TPC
Interpretive Categories: Basin fill
Data Category Information: Location: feature; Description: basin; Deposition: heterogeneous; Basal Spit: basal deposit
Discussion: U. 20270 is a deposit of friable, dark greyish brown soil inside the built edge of u. 20224, which appears to be part of a Neolithic basin (f. 3965) left unexcavated at end of 2012 season.
2013: This unit was excavated to a depth of 7 cm. It contained no remarkable finds, although all was sent to flotation (except 10 L of material which were dumped accidentally. It was disturbed by animal burrowing to the E and the S. Although this layer was extremely homogeneous, it is unlikely that it relates to a single, intentional, or significant filling event.
