Unit 20865
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Floor plaster
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: white clay; Deposition: single; Basal Spit: unpainted
Discussion: This unit represents the patchy plaster floor in the W of space 370. It is poorly preserved to the south, but lips onto platform f. 3507 in the north. Its patchiness is likely due to scouring, and it was extremely difficult during excavation to tell apart the thin floor laminations across this space. It lips onto platform f. 3507 and forms part of its southern modification (u. 20867) with which it is entirely contiguous; there is no physical boundary whatsoever. This layer was so thin across the space, however, that its remaining patches were removed by leaf trowel alone.
