Unit 20875
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Floor plaster
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: raised area (platform); Material: white clay; Deposition: single; Basal Spit: unpainted
Discussion: This unit represents the plaster on the E side of platform f. 3508. It is presumed to be contemporary and once contiguous with u. 20876, the floor plaster across the rest of sp. 370, though this is difficult to be sure of due to all the cracking and cutting in this space. U. 20875 fades out at the S end of the platform, most likely due to scouring since this is the center of the building. This unit was devoid of finds or inclusions, as is the case with most floor units in B. 96, and was excavated by leaf trowel and brush.
Update: 20875 = 20876 most likely since they came down on the same makeup layer u. 20877.
Consistency: Compact
Colour: White
Texture: Plaster
Bedding: Massive
Inclusions: None
Post-depositional Features: Cracking, cutting by burial cuts
Basal Boundary: Clear-- came down on grey makeup layer except on S end
