Interpretive Categories: brick

Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: wall/blocking; Material: brick; Deposition: homogeneous

Discussion: The wall F 3514 was heavily eroded (as it was truncated by Mellaart and exposed for a long time) and the best preserved SW part was covered by a clay patch U20883 very similar in colour and consistency to the bricks of the wall. Because of these reasons the actual structure of the the wall was very hard to follow (at least at the top layer).

Consistency: firm ( friable where eroded)

Colour: greyish dark yellow

Texture: silty clay

Bedding: massive

Inclusions: sparse small flecks of charcoal and salt

Post-depositional Features: heavily eroded (especially at the top and N part)

Basal Boundary: sharp anthropogenic
