Discussion: this unit was recognised as a unit whilst excavating u.21180. Here we could see that the wall was floating and did not contiue into a further layer. After excavating the walls from building 128, this wall lay underneath. u.21506 was built on top of feature 7599 which was evident after excavating. The unit was excavated using a small pick axe and trowel. This unit lay above unit 21505. The mortar within this layer was a lot thinner than the brick layer, mainly because it had eroded away above from previous activity (excavation and walking on top of). 

Consistency: Firm to compact 

Colour: light brown/grey 

Texture: silt 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: - 

Post-depositional Features: Animal burrows, erosion 

Basal Boundary: Very sharp
