Unit 21518
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Midden-like infill
Data Category Information: Location: between walls; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: This unit was similar to unit 21511 in that it was a group of layers forming an event of infill in this space. Just like U21511 it was dominated by a thick layer of brick fragments (smashed) and thin ash/brown soil above it. Both were also sloping to the east. See sheet for U 21511 for further discussion. It was excavated with pick axe. Beneath it lies in the West U21519, another infill layer.
The first 300 litres were dry sieved. Since no amount of finds were recovered, we decided to handpick the rest and thus speed up the removal.
