Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: foundation cut; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: Unit 21641 along with 20440 and 20414 were assigned in order to record extended infill that sealed foundation trench [F.7851]. It was oriented E-W and located along the northern face of southern wall (F.3624) of B.108. Major part of the infill was excavated already in 2012 (U.20440, U.20414). At that time its section profile was exposed across arbitrarily set limit of the excavation.
In 2015 western limit of the research area had been extended again and set arbitrarily along the Grid line: E-1043. The circumstances facilitated to excavate infill that had been recorded under separate unit number [21641]. It was exact 1 meter long deposit placed within the cut [20607] and restricted by the wall to the south. The uncovered material allows to consider its nature in term of re-deposited inclusions that come from disturbed midden layers, that had been truncated in course of digging activities. It seems that the process of infill accumulation was performed simultaneously with the erection of the foundation part of the wall F.3624 in order to stabilize the alignment and preventing slumping. The latter assumption bases on the position of the mud-brick structure that was not vertical and needed to be secured at the stage of construction.
