Description: Unit assigned post-ex. Goes with foundation fills 20440 and 20414. 

 

Discussion: Unit 20607 was assigned post-ex in 2012 after exposing its cross section along the arbitrary limit of the excavation. The cut was oriented E-W and located along the northern face of southern wall (F.3624) of B.108. Its position allows to interpret the context as a foundation cut performed in order to erect the mentioned wall on the bottom of the foundation trench (F.7851). The outline of the unit (20607) as well as its depth, shape and edges revealed during the excavation, indicate the actual extension of the digging activity and character of the constructional phase that aimed to erect the mud-brick structure on stable ground.
Taking into consideration the stratigraphic relationship one may be assumed that the execution of the foundation trench was taking place within the accumulated midden deposits, against already existed northern wall of Sp.90
