Unit 21731

Category: Layer    dug in 2014

Area: South

Interpretive Categories: Hearth superstructure

Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: hearth; Material: pise-like; Deposition: homogeneous

Discussion: This unit appears to be very similar in material and deposition to U. 21728, but because at some point packing layer U. 21729 respects the superstructure on the N edge, it seems that this superstructure layer should be separated into 2 events. U 21731 is the superstructure event that extends from U. 21729 around the S and W edges of the F. and appears as a clay ledge probably built this way to support and create a frame for the plaster molding U. 20078.
