Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: wall/blocking; Material: mortar; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: First we cleaned all the features, the objective was try to see and clarify the position and the relationship between the units that was exposed from last year (F8010-8011-8012) and their relation with other layers and features, exposed from Mellaart period. Apparently we was just between the last occupation layers from the Space 565 and in the beginning for a new space 580.
After cleaning, we was not able to see clearly the relationship between the F8010 and F8011, and also was not clear that under F8010 existent another wall (F8012). At the same time seemed that the layers excavated last year (U31600, U31603 and U31614) had a continuity under the remains of F8011.
The only thing that was clear was a brown and very compact layer (U22350) that we was thinking that maybe could be the remains of a foundation layer from the F8011 that was not completely removed last year. So we decided to excavate this layer, give it a new unit number and try to verify the next relationships:
• If the wall F8010 continues under the U22350, and if the wall F8011 was completely gone.
• Confirm that the U22350 is the remains or a truncation of a foundation layer (then is the same as the U31614 exposed last season?)
• Confirm that under U22350 continuous all the layers removed in the Sp565 (10/05/2016 --CB)
When we remove the U22350, we realize very clear that the morphologic characteristics of the remains of F8010 and the bricks under the layer U22350 was exactly the same, and that both things was clearly connected. Anyways, looking at the profile exposed, was clear that the stratigraphy continuous under this bricks, so we decide to remove it just to see the extension of the layer U31603, and if the wall F8010 was longer in direction N. We start, but after a while was clear that the line of plaster visible in the profile was not the remains of the layer U31603, was the remains of the wall plaster of the wall F8011. So with this evidence, we decide just to expose the wall plaster for the F8011, removing the rests of U31614 that was not completely removed in the season before.
Finally we exposed the complete wall plaster layer (U31608) from the F8011, whose inner side was slopping a bit to the north, which explains why there was still remains of the levels excavated in 2015.
Therefore, the layer U22350 was clearly just one mortar layer more in the F8011. This feature and F8010 are bonded and are higher that we was thinking. So for the moment we are still in the Sp565, and there are any evidence for the F8012, and for the foundation layers U31622 and 31623 (11/05/2016 --CB)

Finds Room Information:
All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.
