Description: In 2016, we continued digging infill 22676 f. 7963. This is a mixed infill from multiple, separate burial events. Contained cranial and postcranial materials from at least six individuals, much of which was loose in the fill. Two of these were complete primary/secondary inuhumations (Sk30044, Sk 30040. remains of at least Contained wooden objects, shells, beads, organic materials. A textile was found associated with sk. 30045/30040. 

Discussion: 2015: Infill in cut near eastern wall in b. 131. Contained some human bones but none articulated as of the 27th of July. Cranium and large tibia found on Aug. 1. Unit not fully excavated in 2015.

In 2016, we continued digging infill 22676 f. 7963. This is a mixed infill from multiple, separate burial events. Seems to be made up of re-used midden type deposits. Partially disturbed by rodent burrows. Contained cranial and postcranial materials from at least six individuals (30040/30045, 32330, 30044, 32322, 30043, 32369), much of which was loose in th31705e fill. Two of these were complete primary/secondary inuhumations (Sk30044, Sk 30040. Remains of at least Contained wooden objects, shells, beads, organic materials. A textile was found associated with sk. 30045/30040.

During excavation in 2016, this unit was subdivided into 4 'zones' (A, B, C, D) and annotated photographic records were kept in order to keep track of the location of loose bone as it was removed. See Human Remains 2016 folder in the shared drive.
