Discussion: Ashy layer sealing packing / fill U.22847 in south-eastern corner of Sp.537 of B.142. This layer was most probably associated with oven F.8551 situated alongside southern wall of B.142. It continued behind the eastern limit of excavation.

As there seems to be no archive and floatation samples the unit might have been partly excavated within layer U.22893 and seperated only after eastern section was cleaned and documented (MZB 2017). 

Consistency: soft / friable 

Colour: dark grey, grey 

Texture: ash 

Bedding: layered 

Inclusions: flecks of charcoal 

Post-depositional Features: western part has eroded since 1960's excavation 

Basal Boundary: constructional (floor surface), very sharp, prominent
