Description: Foundation bricks for the eastern wall of B-131 (F7712)
Discussion: This unit correspond to the foundation bricks for the construction of the eastern wall of the B-131. This unit was defined after remove the upper part of the wall and where only visible in the southern part of the wall. The bricks were light orange and had a different and irregular sizes (0.30 x 28x 0.10; 0.34x0.23x 0.08). In the very southern part were visible at least two different courses of bricks one placed on top of the other. From here and in direction to north there were only one course of bricks, also very irregular that where sloping a bit in direction to north (As is visible in the sequence of elevations that show the slope from the south to the north of each brick 1011.74; 1011.62; 1011. 52; 1011, 54; 1011.51). This foundation bricks were filling within the U32140 the foundation trench U23143 for the eastern wall of B-131.
Probably because the building in that part was built directly on the midden is why they need a bit more consistent foundation to try to give stability to the wall. We cannot explain why there is more bricks in the southern of the wall, where the midden is higher, than in the northern where the midden is sloping towards north.
