Unit 30837
Category: Cut dug in 2013
Area: TPC
Interpretive Categories: Pit cut
Data Category Information: Description: pit
Discussion: This cut was first recognized in plan view as a square-shaped cut, but this turned out to be erosion/spillover of the fill. The cut is actually presumably circular in shape, but extends past the E edge of the trench. It is similar in structure, though quite large in size, for the Hellenistic pits found in the TPC area and elsewhere. The bottom of this cut may continue, but we stopped excavating in case the soil proves to be room fill associated with the walls found at the basal boundary of pit f.7188 to the north.
Shape: circular
Sides: straight
Base Break: 90-degrees but may be arbitrary
Base: flat-- defined as such to keep level with pit f.7188
Orientation: N/A
