Unit 32501
Category: Layer dug in 2016
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: post pad
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Material: plaster; Deposition: homogeneous; Basal Spit: unpainted
Description: Not Yet Excavated: NYE. Though not actually excavated it was possible in the field to assess the composition and consistency of this context.
Discussion: rectangular plaster 'insertion' into partition 7990. Very similar in size and appearance to other post pads 1.28m to the north and 0.22m to the south
The correct stratigraphic relationship between partition F7990 and post pad 32501 and platform F7951 requires excavation to comfirm. Platform 7951 was initially thought to run underneath both 7990 and 32501. However, excavation of the western side of the Partition 7990 revealed that the partition was in fact a very early, if not original feature of B.131. If correct this would mean that the Platform 7951 of which 32500 was the orginal plaster surface, is later , not earlier, than 7990. and that therefore 32501 would be below 32500 in the matrix.
