Area: South
Interpretive Categories: floor
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: non-white laid floor; Deposition: single
Discussion: Levels must be wrong (SU 6/9/98).
This unit was very difficult to excavate because of the plastered floor. Especially the W half of the unit was very hard. At the bottom of W half (below the plaster) I found dark and loose soil which was different from the E half (below the plaster). The loose and darker soil is hardened by a clear plaster (?) The line of plaster (curved) cut through S-W corner of the baulk. The E borders of this area (might be a pit) can be seen on the profile of post hole (see drawing on sheet).
