Dimensions: 0.39 m E-W; 0.20 m N-S; up to 0.03 m thick 

Discussion: Small area of burning, dark brown material to E then to W becoming more ashy and grey, then white with some orange mixed in, more friable, with darkbrown continuing underneath - material sitting within a shallow bowl, material below (3770) appears possibly structural, (3769) not directly over infill. 

Recognition: Recognised initially when partially exposed, before (3763) + (3766) excavated. 

Definition: Clear, defined to N by edge of excavation and to W by baulk. 

Execution: Trowel. 

Condition: Dry. 

Consistency: friable/soft 

Colour: 7.5 YR 2-5/2 very dark brown (dry); 10 YR 3/3 dark brown (dry); 10 YR 4/1 dark grey (dry); 10 YR 7/2 light grey (dry); 7.5 YR 5/6 strong brown (dry) 

Texture: sandy silt (ash?) 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: 15% charcoal flecks 

Post-depositional Features: n/a 

Basal Boundary: barupt/distinct/smooth/concave/inclined to W
