Discussion: Twenty-first layer of floor lenses on platform F239. Labelled 40 on plan 98-639.
This layer/floor (plaster) was discontinuous and pitted, surfaces were cracked. It is only present in the W area of excavation. The material present in the E area has the appearance of fill, and possibly is a cut. The layer is discontinuous in section also.
Recognition: Floor of platform. Colour/texture changes.
Definition: Defined by limit of excavation.
Execution: Leaf trowel and patience.
Condition: Dry.
Consistency: fairly compact
Colour: 7.5 YR 7/1 light grey mostly
Texture: clay, slightly ashy
Bedding: massive
