Dimensions: 1.34m E-W x 1.24m N-S. Thickness 0.1m

Discussion: Initial phase core of platform F288 in NE corner of sp117. Appears to have been constructed from re-used mudbricks, mortar and other material though not coursed in any way, just thown together to form a rectangular block, which was then rendered with plaster 4164. The platform overlies this spread of material 4167, which overlies the infill of the building below building 2.

Recognition: Hardened upstanding sub-rectangular bolck of material overlying plaster surface

Definition: Block clearly differentiated from surrounding deposits

Execution: Trowel and pick from edge

Condition: Dry and compact although truncated by later features

Consistency: Firm

Colour: mottled dark gray, brown and beige

Texture: Silty clay

Bedding: Compound layered

Inclusions: Occasional (<5%) small charcoal shell stone, bone, obsidian and baked clay fragments

Post-depositional Features: Occasisnal root disturbance

Basal Boundary: Clear smooth, anthropic
