Unit 6240

Category: layer    dug in 1999

Area: North

Interpretive Categories: bin floor

Dimensions: 47 x 33 cm

Discussion: This feature has been noticed as a small xxxx with a plastered edge that was particularly thick in junction with the north wall. Underneath the brown clay edge of the bin there was a clear shape of white bin wall with the white floor. In the middle of the bin layer of reddish (burnt?) soil was clean of other residues, only occasional lenses of ashy deposit. This feature goes under the platform (texture 165) so after extensively this, it was clear that it is necessary to remove the platform and expose older features in this space, such as this bin, that were in most cases truncated in order for other features to be placed above them. The xxx happened in the case of this bin. A micromammal skeleton (X1) was found inside xxx soil that was on top of white border of the bin, which might be interesting in determining possible use of the space and textures (?).
