Entry: Life goes on and U20481 disappears in space 17/18. It is not all easy, as these two spaces have been open and run over by wheel barrows for a long time. The walls are fragile, U20481, the infill, is compact and full of well preserved bricks and the differ... click here for more...

Entry: So, finally time has come for my last field diary entry for the 2012 season. People are going home. The trench owl made its last inspection yesterday evening, the corridors are silent and empty and there is suddenly hot water in the showers and cold water... click here for more...

Entry: Our pod of three (me, Jedrzej and Yunuz) started excavations of B. 102 yesterday, first started the last days of the 2012 season. In S17 a floor level was reached last year, but wasn't found in S18, and not even in a sondage cut they made in the middle of... click here for more...

Entry: Today we had a really interesting day in the B.102. Well, obviously, every day is interesting in our house, but today we finally can start to see same floor in both spaces, and just not bits and pieces (as it has been in S18). Having said that, it also me... click here for more...

Entry: A floor is a floor is a floor is a floor. Or is it? In Catal, more specifically B.102, a floor layer can be extremely hard to define (although sometimes it will just lay itself out before you, like a very nice rug - this is, as you may already know, a ver... click here for more...

Entry: In the past weeks I have excavated a building (B128), revealed an external space (Sp. 530) roughly contemporary with B102 and B3, and started work on B.102. It is now time to contemplate - where am I and what am I doing and what have I done so far? This f... click here for more...
