Discussion:
This space was recognized in 2012, but not named. It became even clearer it was a space in 2014. The space was created together with space 39 by building the east wall (internal separating wall) F3658 and northern internal wall F3659 on levelling infill u.21123.
The east wall had at some point been cut (see sketch) to form a small entrance, and the room infill contained few finds. The room infill u.21110 and the room itself had been badly eroded by being exposed as well as being close to the surface.
The function of this side room and the northern one (sp39) remains unknown but they were part of a later building where space 40 was the main room. Probably the grave cluster in sp 40 can be associated with this building; perhaps cut in the floor.
