Discussion: This is a light brown make up layer placed underneath greyish floor recorded as unit 12285. Both units are functionally related and comprise upper floor in the second sequence (the oldest) of floors in Building 61 and can be dated back to phase II in the Mellaart scheme. This unit was clearly visible in its E part. There was a longitudinal brake in the middle probably of postdepositional character and its western section was uneven and mixed up with other deposits. No architectual elements of the space division were detected at this floor level. Accordingly, it was decided to arbitrary divide it in order to recognize macroscopally visible elements of space organization that may be discernable by heavy residue analysis. Hence, three archive and flotation samples were taken from various parts of the floor. These are a following samples:
s1(archive) and s5(flotation) from SE part of the unit,
s2(archive)and s6(flot.) from NE corner of the unit,
s3(archive) and s7(flot.) from W section of this unit.
