Unit 1527
Category: layer dug in 1996
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: midden
Data Category Information: Location: external; Deposition: finely bedded
Dimensions: c.1.2m x 1.2m x 0.15m
Discussion: Deposit seemingly adjacent to 1523. If one cuts through the other it is unclear which. To the North clearly distinct from 1523 although it does not reach section 96/139. Relatively clean mudbrick compared to midden deposits. Some kind of interface between midden and building fill above and therefore later than 1523? The distinction between 1523 and1527, though still apparent in plan, becomes less clear to the South. Dry Sieve Information: Probably some dry sieve but amount unknown

The bone is fairly fragmented, weathering is moderate and evidence of burning is minimal. One equid 4th carpal showed cuts possibly from dismemberment. 4mm, flotation sample #2, 100% sorted, was recorded for diagnostics only.
