Discussion: Unit 17258 is the [unreadable], lower, and smaller those of buttress F.5052. There is an inner line of plaster defining the outer edge of the older buttress. The buttress is 10cm within the outline of F.5052, similar to F.5057 and its inner buttress. Between the two plaster lines (of inner and outer buttress) is a line (ca. 5cm thick) of construction fill and artifacts. In the center of the southern edge is a small cluster of painted plaster and pottery. In the NE corner where the buttress meets the walls 3335, there is an area of burned clay on the floor, as well as possibly burned floor. The inside plaster line connects to the lower floor (of the two known floors). The buttress 5052 was abutted to wall F.3335, meaning it eas constructed as a later phase. Both the early and latter phases of buttress 5052 appear to be made of the same material and both used a rammed earth (packed fill) construction technique. The fill contains Neolithic and Chalcolithic material, possibly collected from erosion wash between the mounds.
