Discussion: The U21516 was the mortar in between the bricks of E foundation wall of B113 (7613). The unit filled also gaps in irregular courses of the foundation wall in some cases substituting the bricks. It was orangish gray and resembled the infill of the space 527 being probably the same material and in fact the same layer which was used to fill the whole space together with laying down subsequent courses of foundation bricks. The best evidence of that was the ashy lens (maybe fire spot) found first in the infill of the space (U21140) then in mortar line between the courses of wall and then in the in-between infill (U21102) between the wall F7613 and wall F3678.

Inclusions: abundant charcoal and chalky flecks, plaster pieces
Post-depositional Features: animal burrows
Basal Boundary: sharp, smooth athropogenic, diffuse at the bottom
