Discussion: This is multiple layers of plaster, some painted red (some possibly black?) moulded around an oval conoid clay / brick ball & inserted into the wall prior to plastering the wall. The clay / brick base is (2173) & behind (2177) another clayish layer can be seen.
Excavated by half section. 

Execution: leaf trowel 

Condition: hot, dry 

Consistency: moderately firm 

Colour: 7.5 YR 6/2 pinkish grey - 10YR 5/3 brown 

Texture: clay with a touch of fine sand 

Bedding: layered 

Inclusions: occasional charcal <5mm, red paint 

Post-depositional Features: some fine roots, mainly at the top 

Basal Boundary: irregular boundary with next anthropogenic layer
