Discussion: Southern half of s[pace 73 removed by one of the workmen, Taner - basically consisting of two layers - a think top layer of orange sandy silt & a bottom layer of dark brown clays. The top orange sandy layer (originally thought to be .. .. .. but it is merely oxidised) is very similar to the orange sub floor packing in building 1 - perhaps it is left over material dumped is here? (GML finished it off)

Colour: 5 YR 5/6 yellowish red - upper layer, 10 YR 5/4 yellowish brown, lower layer
Texture: sandy silt - upper layer; silty clay - lower layer
Bedding: compound layered
Inclusions: charcoal <10mm <1%; plaster <10mm <1%; clay fragemtns <5mm, 2-5%
Post-depositional Features: salts / roots, <1% animal burrow
Basal Boundary: sharp, distinct, undulating
