Discussion: apparent occupation deposit- based on colour inclusions I.e. contains ash, charcoal, shell, bone frags, occ. Obsidian flakes, also appears layered 

 

Recognition: recognised on cleaning mainly because raised lip of material fairly obviously along w edge of unit 

Definition: W. edge, well defined 

Execution: trowel 

Condition: dry 

Consistency: friable to firm, 

Colour: 10YR 4/2 dark greyish brown (dry) 

Texture: silt, maybe ash component 10% 

Bedding: layered? 

Inclusions: charcoal flecks,small frags up to 20%; flecks/small frags shell 2% 

Post-depositional Features: animal burrow/ salt flecks and lense 5% 

Basal Boundary: abrupt, distinct, smooth, inclined to W
