Discussion: Relatively thick (4cm) layer of crumbled-like clay material was revealed under the burned make-up (U.32018). Both of the mentioned units (32024 and 32018) constitute the only remains belonged to the earlier construction phase of the oven (F.7854). The mentioned phase of the Earlier use refers to an fire installation whose cupola did not survive. However judging by the extent of the burning trace, evidenced on the surface of U.32018, one may state that the superstructure which restricted the older sequences of oven must have been much bigger than the ones related with: superstructure – 31569; make-up – 32012; base – 31570; dome – 32002.
Nevertheless, presented here layer U.32024 constituted important element as for the earlier, as for the later exploitation phases (sequences) of the fire installation (F.7854). The composition and clayish texture of the material which was employed to execution the layer imply clearly that the thick deposit functioned as an constructional element. Hence the latter might be considered as preparation (packing) layer set in purpose to raise the position of the planned oven (fire activities). As such the layer could provide stable enough ground (foot/base) ensuring subsequent erection of the superstructure(s) and cupola(s). Furthermore, it appeared that described leveling might have been also involved in making even underlaid concave surface which was used excessively as fire installation.
From stratygraphical point of view, the preparation layer U.32024 covered (to the north) floor U.32015, and (to the south) it sealed an burned layer U.32025 - probable remains of extensive fire spot which was set partially in the cuts: U.32029 and 32028.

Finds Room Information:
All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.
X Finds Material: nothing recorded
