Category: layer dug in 1998
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: collapsed wall,mortar
Data Category Information: In Situ: non in-situ; Location: building; Material: mortar; Deposition: homogeneous
Dimensions: see reverse; 1.1 m N-S/0.95 m W-E, 0.08m thick
Discussion: Mortar in wall lying horizontally in space 156, building 5. Was found under a place where the W wall of the room (still in situ F227) has been damaged. High probability the horizontal wall is part of the W wall, fallen or pulled down deliberately.
Relations: the fallen wall rests on an accumulated deposit (3228 -3243) on the floor, but the S end of the wall rests directly on the floor (3253).
Dimensions: the horizontal wall is 1.1 x 1 m (N-S/E-W) depth: the mortar varies: length:1.1 - 0.22 m, width:0.18 - 0.04 m.
Recognition: Horizontal wall under infilling.
Definition: Defined by the crumbled ends of the wall.
Execution: Excavated by trowel, leaving 1 baulk.
