Discussion: This unit represents a layer of floor located at the middle area of space 159. It is not a plastered Catal floor, it is quite different from others. First of all it is quite a dirty floor, and second it seems to be quite organic. There are a lot of phytoliths and plant impressions around which all seem to be like chaff. There is also quite a large amount of charcoal. And let's not forget the obsidian chips. This floor (3795) peeled off from another floor which seems to have the same properties.
Recognition: Distinctive colour and texture came under floor (3759).
Definition: It fades away gently on its S, W and N, defined by wall (?) on E. But its main definition is actually its yellowish brown colour.
Execution: Leaf trowel.
Condition: Good.
Consistency: loose
Colour: 10 YR 7/4 very pale brown to 6/3 pale brown
Texture: silty (some parts contain ash aswell)
Bedding: layered, there are a lot of very very thin lenses that seem to be the same deposits
Inclusions: 30% flecks of phytolith; 15% flecks to small sized pieces of charcoal; c.2% chips of obsidian; <2% medium sized pieces of plaster
Post-depositional Features: flecks of salt, animal burrowing, insect and root activity
Basal Boundary: very sharp and smooth basal boundary sloping down from N to S
