Finds Room Information:
All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.
X Finds Material: nothing recorded

Unit description: The pieces are >100 at the dry sieve, therefore, for the fragments from flotation samples only the diagnostic bones will be recorded the rest will be weighed and counted. But a brief definition of flotation samples might be useful because there is an exceptional situation for that specific unit that the flotation samples of this unit might not be representative. It is because when you put them on a ratio the fragments of the flotation samples are denser than the dry sieve material (main unit). In terms of weathering, fragmentation and taxa gives approximately the same picture with the main unit (dry sieve material). The rest of the description will be done according to the dry sieve fragments. This is a large unit with not very much of mixed material. The 03 size bone fragments seems like 3/5 of the whole unit the rest 2/5 seems like 07 size. The most dense bone fragment of the unit is 03 size long bone shafts. And 07 size long bone shafts seem like quite dense. Teeth, rib, vertebrae, phalanx and carpal fragments can be observed for both 03 and 07 sizes. Fragmentation is quite high, mostly pre-depositional. It seems like all the long bones are broken. Maybe for the marrow processing and grease. The carpals of 03 and 07 size and a vertebrae of 07 size has been found as a whole bone. There are not much diagnostic bones. The diagnostic ones are some phalanges, carpals, teeth, a long bone and some vertebras. 5% of the bone fragments are burned at a low temperature. And very few pieces of bone fragments have high temperature burning stage (an equid phalanx, piece of skull and a proximal end of scapula). There are not much diagnostic bones (<5%). The bones seem not much weathered (mostly weathering 2 and 3). Not many fresh bones can be observed. The unit has a kind of coherence. Lots of individuals has been represented but it seems like same processing rule over that unit. (As has been mentioned before, these might be the bone fragments of the marrowing and greasing process) The problematic of this unit is ' why the taxa is mostly concentrating on long bone fragments'.Figurine Records: Yes
