Unit description: Flot sample 1 (3486) - fully analyzed A small amount of dry sieved. The unit is an arbitrary metre square from just above the floor in space 182. It has an overall grey colour, probably due to the amount of plaster dust adhering to much of the bone, especially the smaller pieces (< 1cm). There is also a moderate amount of burning in the smaller pieces, both carbonized and calcined. There is one gnawed sheep/goat pate[la and a few digested fragments. weathering ranges from unweathered to heavily weathered. Overall the material is battered and somewhat mixed, but does not appear to be trampled or ashy. There is a small amount of fish and amphibian bone in the 4 mm. The 1 and 2 mm are relatively dense, but little is diagnostic and most appears to be crushed larger pieces. An additional small bag of dry sieve was recorded later and showed much the same pattern as that noted before except no fish or amphibian bone was found.
