Discussion: Wall plaster from N wall of space 71. Traces of red paint exist to the West of F26 only.
Approximately 2-3 layers of painting.
One darker red to east side there were 3 triangular shapes - fairly consistent/bright spread of paint, on a lower (?) layer a more orange layer with some dense shapes.
Possibly below this a faded darker red - large expanses - very badly preserved and faded with some small patches of black and some large expanses of plain unpainted plaster
Very poor preservation of wall plaster in general, flaky and uneven layering - more decayed/thinner in some areas and dark ????

Unit description: This unit comes entirely from flotation: Sample 2 >4mm flotation, 100% sorted, recorded completely. This is a small unit with small pieces of mostly sheep-size scrap. Nothing is over 3 cm, and most is less than 1 cm. The few diagnostics are pretty ratty. There is some burning and quite a bit of digestion. Surface condition is variable. There is a little bit of fish and amphibian, pulled for later study. There is little coherence, and it calls to mind brick assemblages. 2003: Found a couple of pieces from the dry sieve, variably in surface condition between the two of them and further supporting multiple origins for the assemblage.
