Discussion:
The unit 31240 is a compact layer of clay which we first discovered outside the installation F.3391. It is beneath the thin fill U.31241, which seperates it from U.31242, the white rounded boundary of the installation. In a small section however, it became clear, that the layer continues underneath both 31241 and 31242 and then lies directly under the clay layer U.31237, where it has a very thin burned layer on top, which is more firm than the rest of the unit. This burned surface together with the apparently burned clay of U.31237 is my only evidence, that the installation F.3391 is in fact a fire installation. Unit 31240 seems to have been the surface of activity when the installation was used and served both as surface around it as well as inside.
