Discussion: Unit 15373 is a plaster installation, sitting on room fill. It seems to have two phases, as under the upper layer of plaster and a layer of room fill, a second layer of plaster becomes visible, in front of F.5057 (wall facing north). The installation consists of a rectangzlar plaster lump in front of the northern face of F.5057, that is not connecting to the buttress. On roughly the same level there are two more lumps of plaster in fron of Space 341 located. These lumps are also sitting on fill: On a lower level, the room fill around the plaster lumps contains some lenses of clay. In fron of F.5052 (southern face) sits a bench-like feature of plaster, connecting to the plaster installation in the south of the space. This part of the plaster installation is heavily disturbed by animal burrows. The bench-like part of the installation connects to a large, polygonal shaped part of the installation, and this polygonal shaped lump connects via a thinner, bridge-like part to the nearly rectangular-shaped part in the south. The bridge-like part has a small, rectangular-shaped mould. A rectangular shaped compacted layer of room fill lies between the bridge-like part and the eastern wall of F.5053/5054.
In front of space 340, the plaster installation is superimposed by a large (storage?) pot. The documented layer of the plaster installation also has small lumps of plaster sitting on it. Under the installation, in front of the northern face of F.5057, pottery sherds are coming up. U.15373 was first seen in the room fill sondage 15361 in Space 450, where ist upper parts were removed before the feature became clear. Therefore this part looks lower in the photos.

JMR 2012 -
Plaster feature 15273 was excavated, described and photographed last year (2011). We had discussions about whether it represents collapse, debris or an installation. Looking at it again now, and also during and after removal, I would be very onfident about the debris interpretation. There are two different kinds of plasters and the pieces lie next to each other, making the debris interpretaton unlikely. The only reason to interpret this as an installation would be that one plaster piece lies in front of buttress F.5052.
