Discussion: It is a midden with a quite high number of bricks. It was placed underneath the wall 12229 in N-W part of the trench. The unit 15887 seemed to be a part of a bigger midden which was excavated by Mellaart in 1960 s. Its S boundary was defined arbitrarly due to the existence of broken bricks (rubble?) in upper part of the unit. However, during the exploration it became clear that the unit 15887 was identical with unit 15895 as regards its depositional history. Its E boundary was also arbitrarly defined by a W face of younger walls (12229,12230). Stratigraphicly the midden which was up to 50 cm was placed deep on a white well preserved floor sloping towards S. The midden was rich in archaeological material. One of the most intriguing discovering was a huge amounts of big fragments of cattle bones. Additionaly, the midden comprised greyish silty clay fragments of mortar, oranguish lenses of broken bricks, grey silty sand and ash with a small fr of plaster.
